UTC

Coordinated Universal Time, the reference every chain of clocks in the atlas starts from.

Type reference
Nominal Civil time

Description

No clock in the release is tied to UTC directly. The recorder PC is synchronised to a hospital time server, and the release shifts every date to the year 2100, so the offset of any VitalDB time from UTC is an assumption, bounded by the PC's synchronisation (Recorder PC against UTC).

Route to UTC

Every route ends here: UTC is the time scale each clock is traced back to.

Observations

Observation Status Summary
Every case starts at 2100-01-01 00:00 UTC established The release shifts each case to the same start, removing the date and the time of day. Within a case all times keep their spacing.

Studies

Study Date Status Summary
Recorder PC clock steps and recording pauses 2026-10-17 current A step of the recorder PC clock would move every device's stamps at once. Searching all 6,388 files for such simultaneous jumps found none of 0.5 s or more; what moves everything together is recording pauses.
